I am sure the huge saving they will make ditching the BMW's and moving to hybrid will be a big plus maybe they could even afford  few more police on the beat with the money saved.

I have seen Mirai police car in London near Kew gardens. I believe I seen a Corolla TS in north west London too. They are starting to understand that some cars are better than others especially for business use, fleet, trade, etc. Ambulance should switch too., get rid of these dirty Octavia tdi.

That Octavia will be able to fulfill a number of rolls whereas the others mentioned above are really single use.

As for the Corolla Touring - you can't have that in 4x4 guise, not so the Corolla. The Skoda is faster 0-62, it's in-gear acceleration will leave a Toyota 2.0 hybrid for dead and you're talking a top speed of 150mph vs 111mph.  Might be better for the environment but why put all your eggs in the one basket when you can buy a car that will fill mutiple tasks?
