I've got 17" wheels and want to lower my car,but dunno if I'll be able with the standard struts. Are there any lowering kits available that will give me enough clearance. The other option is to get coilover suspension, but I can't see any available for the Gti-16 and I'm sure it will be pretty expensive as well anyway.

Any ideas guys :D

i droped mine by 30mm using springs and koni's from fensport. they are a cartridge replacement type so use the std strut casing. u may need the rear arches rolling though

We had 7x17s on the rolla GTI and it rubbed alittle and the car looked daft so high but I think you will deffo have to roll the rear arches - I'm gonna do the same and get the lowering springs too

same tyre size m8 and yes the did rub on bumpy roads etc.

'rolled' mine myself. just got a dolly from a panel beaters set (big lump of rounded and smooth steel) just warmed up the arch with a heat gun to make the paint flexible, wrapped the dolly in a thick cloth and knocked the lip up a bit at a time, took about 20-30 mins a side

I'm hoping to have a full respray done soon and will replace the front wings and rear arches so I'll ask the bloke at the bodyshop to do it for me...for free :D otherwise I'll do it myself
