Parking sensors keep flashing for no reason! 2013 Rav 4

When starting up I get a loud warning signal and the sensors flash. The sound goes off but the sensors do not. They still flash when on the road?

I don't like all the peeps from my Rav4. My advice is to turn them off using the left-hand button on the steering wheel (scroll down).

Is this a recent 'fault' - in that they used to work fine but the behaviour has changed?

Or have they always behave this way during your ownership of the car?

In my 2013 RAV4 there was a switch just forward of the gear lever that switched the front parking sensors on and off. Basically I had to keep them switched off unless I actually wanted to use them when parking - otherwise they detected banks and hedges beside the road and the car in front at every junction etc..

Hi all, had a look on good old YouTube and tried the suggestion of WD40 in the sensors...................it worked!!

Thanks for your help. Will report back if it goes again!!
