At these odd sizes and to come back to the op question- there are no cheap tyres for aygo x. , at least not at the moment.

I would consider a second hand Aygo X futher down the line if or went there ever is? when my Yaris is older then the hills.

I haven’t tried myself a Yaris mk3, neither petrol or hybrid but I had Aygo 2020 and then Aygo x 2024. The difference better these two cars is real and although they both look very similar the driving feels very different.
The Aygo X is based on the same chassis like Yaris and Yaris cross.
The car is very wide, with low centre of gravity , stiff body and perfect suspension set up that makes it very engaging to drive, very comfortable over bumps at low speeds and very agile in turns with light and precise steering control.
I have no idea about Yaris mk3 how does it drive but judging by the look of it and the fact that looks very much like my Auris 2010 these cars are totally different. I love my Auris and by no mean it’s a bad car, actually is the best for me, but these previous generations Toyota cars where differently made.
The major difference is in body rigidity, soft bodies with hard suspension to compensate. These set up made them uncomfortable and bumpy over bad roads, and softer body shelf’s made them less agile in turns, higher speeds, and more spirited driving. All those not so important especially when we are talking about economy cars but honestly I was impressed by my rental Aygo x and for me I will buy this over any other previous generations Toyota.
I get Aygo x but nothing less.
Will I buy one now, NO , not at all. I have the best car in the world, but nothing lasts forever and the time comes to replace if I don’t drive as much as of now Aygo X manual is all I need. 😊

It's more the thought of paying £600 for 4 tyres which is bonkers for a city run around! other then that 👍

Last month I had a pressure warning in the Superb PHEV. Large headed screw about 1" from the inner shoulder, not sure if it was fixable. Before going to our local indy for a repair I rang round and found that the OEM Michelin 215 55 17 were £150 each but Uniroyal (a favoured brand of mine) were about £90.

Fortunately the tyre was repairable but if it have been scrap I would have got 2 Uniroyals and kept the undamaged Michelin for possible use later.

If I have wanted to go budget a tyre called the Winrun was £52.57.

Bottom line is simple, those Aygo tyres look damm expensive.

A 195 55 16 OEM Bridgestone for the Yaris is about £102, getting a Uniroyal would drop that to about £84.

So not much less than the Superb tyres despite being quite a bit smaller.

Tyres like anything else these days in this country are very expensive indeed. But this really should not be the reason to avoid this car especially if anything else fits the bill.
I looked at Skoda Fabia latest model and cheap basic model can be found on similar price, and these comes with very well equipped interior even rear air vents , small tyres on steely wheels and cheap tyre sizes, brilliant, but what if it doesn’t drive as well and if it comes with hidden surprises like wet belt engine, or dsg clutch repair £3k , things that with time you will need to replace. I was also not a fan of Aygo x previously , but having one for a week I have changed my mind.

My local garage and a well known named one doesn't even have Aygo X tyres in stock, not very handy if you get an unrepairable flat and no space saver, while for £78 a corner i can go get one for my Yaris at a drop of a hat, The Aygo X a very sensible car with not very sensible tyres.

It's like a mini midfield, no wet belts, no DSG and then you have the very sensible or should that be once very sensible? Toyota's with bonkers tyre sizes and 12v issues, hence why i will be keeping my 2020 ICE engine Yaris till it is beyond repair then probably a bus pass or even a Cycle or Scooter? for getting around local on and the upside there won't be all the bongs and pings like on new car's now as well 😆

I was pleasantly reminiscing of when I first got new tyres for my old Mk1 Yaris - I paid £140 for 4 Continentals Premium Contacts!!

That would barely get me one tyre for my Mk4 now...! (If I still had the 17" rims that is... :naughty: )

Bonkers it is, good choice changing out them 17" rims. I parked next to a Aygo X a couple of days ago with the full fat or should that be full skinny 🤔😆 17" on and my mouth just dropped at the sheer size and the last time that happened it was next to a Land Rover with massive tyres on but that was a Land Rover and wide tyres as well 😆 i kept looking at the back of the Aygo X thinking it looks like it has got massive dinner plates on 😆

I like my new Aygo X from most angles. But from the back the narrow tyres make it look like a farm implement.

Or a Fabia like mine that blew its turbo under 20k miles....  2K repair bill is a lot of Aygo tyres.

Yep, your about right, we just put set of 4 Continental 15s on our Mk2 and they came to just over £400, but they were replacing the originals, so the originals done well. Continental tyres always seem to do pretty well overall in tyre tests, so happy pay premium for quality rubber.

But agree with the many comments about the Aygo X tyre sizes, not only have gone jump 2-3 inches over the previous Aygo but to have a strange size to boot is bonkers for type of car it is, that kind of tyre policy is what prestige makers put on their special edition performance cars!

The side angle is bonkers but that rear view is especially bonkers 😱
