Have you tried replacing the Battery again?

Like renew again?

Yes. Just as a process of elimination. Batteries can fail, albeit rarely. While troubleshooting, you can leave the remote control part out of the key and try it on its own.

Exactly as said above.

The batteries, assuming it's a lithium button cell, are rated at 3 volts.

If you have access to a digital voltmeter then measuring it is very worthwhile.

From whenever I've replaced these cells (quite often, we have 5 cars here), the new cell voltage is up around 3.40 volts.  When the remote control stops working they are usually around 3.00 - 3.05 volts.

How did you test the cell, get a new branded Battery that's in date

a cell only has to drop half a volt to not work, they also die if left in the back of the draw a "new" cell will drop dead in 2-3 years unused

Volt meter read 3. Odd volts.

Tested the radio signal and thats fine. Tempted to go to dealer and ask them to help.

Possibly just needs a resynchronisation.

Ok. Did that work for anyone?

Yes.

With mine, it took a few tries before it worked, though.

Ok brill. It seems complicated

It gets easier after the 57th try...😜

There are Youtube videos on it.

It may have actually been a post further down the page that I followed:

Check that the buttons haven't sheared off the circuit board on the remote - That's a semi-common problem on the remotes of that era!

It may be they were just sitting on top with weakened solder joins and when you changed the Battery that dislodged them enough they don't connect any more...

It emits a signal when buttons are pressed but car dont respond

Well that's a good sign at least! I'd be surprised if it is the pairing but stranger things have happened.

Does it start the car at least?

If so the remote program procedure should at least work; It's easier to get working than the procedure for programming a new immobilizer signal!!

The key is separate  from the buttons.

The problem I have found with mine is the outer edge of the Battery not making contact down inside where it is meant to.

I jammed a small piece of firm foam rubber against the outer edge of the Battery as I inserted the circuit unit back into place...all reliable now.
