Toyota Roadside Assistance

My free year is due to expire before delivery of a new car, there has been a change to terms last year, when you renew, the cover is no longer refundable or transferable, it stays with the car. So beware if you are changing cars soon after renewal

I had exactly that issue but had been assured at previous renewal that it was, so they have agreed to honour the unused portion.  We shall see.

If they do try that then no chance. If you have only a short time you could invoke the 14 day rule. Insure with different insurers and cancel.

The thing that's really scummy about it is it doesn't actually follow the car - From what I've read on here the next owner doesn't get the remainder of Roadside Assistance unless they know about it from the previous owner and can argue it, otherwise they only get the 1 years complimentary that comes when you buy a car from Toyota, whereas it should really be 1 year + whatever was remaining!
