My '90 GT Turbo cuts out when i accelerate hard, the boost gauge goes to just over half way, then the orange warning light on the bottom left display (its the top right light on that display) comes on and the car splutters until I stop it and restart it.

Its just had a replacment turbo from fensport fitted.

Anyone got any ideas or suggestions on this one?

Could try checking your air hoses for leaks?? Not sure. My freind had this problem a few years back on his RS Turbo. Came down to a really small crack in on of his pipes I think, losing pressure as it builds up. Might be that.

it also sounds electrical, like what happens when your dizzy cap, rotor arms or leads need changed. Or if water gets into the leads.

But the fact that a warning light is coming on ??..... check ECU error codes?

Have you tried resetting ecu?

just a thought

Ok, finally getting to the bottom of this one, the garage that are servicing the car tell me that the Turbo is overboosting causing the fuelcut to come in and thereby stopping the engine. The turbo is a replacement from Fensport, just on the car a few weeks, what could be causing this and does anyone know of a solution to it?
