Interesting... Tavarish grenaded the engine in his McLaren not long ago and it was a combination of modifying it for a power increase without fitting stronger components, and 'playing' with it before the engine had reached operating temperature.

It failed in a very similar way, cutting a similarly a big hole through block...

Well there *is* a massive hole in it that it probably escaped from  

I'm quite surprised Toyota are so readily repairing it under warranty when it looks a lot like it could be user error...!

I'd love to see what the final report on the cause was...

Here it’s more than obvious reason for that event, mismatched gears , second instead of a forth . Same as the Yaris GR a year or two ago at Nurburgring.

I didn't see the head, but if all the rocker arms are snapped that's a good sign it was a 'money shift'!
