Taillight plastic cover

Hey, I’ld like to acces the metal rings inside the taillight. What’s the proper way to remove the plastic? I tried wipping it out with a screwdriver. But it ended up breaking the plastic.

 

2nd question, does someone know a place to buy replacement plastic covers for the tail and front lights? I can only find whole new headlight units.

They are bonded, they come as a complete unit, IIRC there are a few different designs and maybe aftermarket ones

you may want to try and heat them in the oven (very low heat) but do this at your own risk
