She must have had more than one sister.

Can someone throw some light as to what exactly is NSF under the wheel arch ?  as I am thinking of getting a decent steering lock for my CHR PHEV Design.

2 gen C-HR isn't affected by CAN invader theft method according to Toyota.

I believe also  that the CHR  MK2 has the catalytic converter in an inaccessible place.

The problem we all face is do the thieving scroats  know that Toyota have made advances in this area and will they attempt to steal the vehicle in the meantime ?  causing secondary damage to your precious vehicle.

Without the keys theft via the OBD port could be a possible viable theft method - which means they need access in to the passenger cabin which should trigger the factory alarm system.

If your keeping the vehicle & concerned then consider investing in additional security.

See: Toyota GB statement on vehicle theft for information on the vulnerability and how Toyota propose to address it.

The issue was resolved in production from October 2022 - so later mk1 C-HRs (and all mk2s) are unaffected. So, you don't need a steering lock to prevent the car from being stolen ...

... but we can't rely on the intelligence of those who would 'nick' cars to know which are vulnerable and which aren't, and we already have reports of RAV4 PHEVs being damaged while not being stolen (the RAV4 PHEV doesn't have the vulnerability; pre-October 2022 4.5 HEVs do). So, if you are going to park your car in an area where such thieves are likely to be active a visible deterrent such as a steering lock might be a good idea.

Mk1 is also inaccessible - in engine bay.
This is also not about catalysts being stolen, it’s about Toyota providing a fix to CAN theft; from outside the car.

It will be the cheapest fix possible likely a secondary immobiliser 😉
