iQ LPT.....

Uh, what's LPT? Well my wife's Volvo got it, it's a turbo which delivers low boost (low pressure turbo), just to add some flavor to the lower rev range....... Like to add a similar set up to the iQ. Not to make it a racer or sleeper, but just to spice up the performance. Goal would be 90-100hp and some more torque in the lower range. 

Does it cost money, is it pointless, would you be better of with a 1.3 version or D4-D iQ version; probably yesss! But I like a challenge and the fun is also the road to it. 

So far I've got some parts in, small TD025 turbo, adjustable wastegate actuator, Ecumaster DET3+ piggyback, 200cell cat converter (will keep it legal-ish, for MOT(by the way; I live in the Netherlands)) making the flanges myself and also the manifold. Biggest challenge (at least for me) will be hooking up the DET3+, it's been done to some Aygos, but these have another ECU/ECM. Ah well, no hurry, I will take my time

Hi Menno, does sound like it would be more suited to a diesel, is your wife's Volvo a diesel ?

I previously had a Volvo XC60 diesel and it had a two stage turbo, a twin turbo setup if you like, and it worked really well 👍

Hi Hybrid 21, the wife's Volvo is a 940 with a 2.3 petrol engine..... Although the turbo I purchased is from a turbocharged diesel engine. Maybe not perfect or ideal, but the goal is also not top performance power gain.
