I have a 2014-2015 avensis 1.8petrol estate t27 I’ve got a 2016 t27 climate control will it fit or do I have to get exact year

I don't think it has to be the exact year, but the problem may well be that a 2016 will be the facelift model and therefore has a completely different facia design to 2015 and earlier models.

No reason why it shouldn't work. The design of the surround changed slightly in 2016 so the replacement probably isn't actually from a 2016-build car but an earlier 2014/15 model like yours in any case.

I think you need to remove the facia surround of the older unit and fit it to the newer control unit. I have dismantled mine to clean and lubricate the control contacts many years ago. Not needed to repeat the process since.
