Speed Cam/ Alerts etc

Hi,had my Cross a fortnight now and all's well apart from 9" Smart Connect only shows speed cams,roads closed etc when it fancies. On a journey I can pass the same areas many times and it will either show all some or none of what it's meant to.   Has anybody had similar? Thanks

I’ve got the smart connect system and it does the same for me it’s hit and miss and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a traffic alert from it.

I’ve tried a few different nav app’s on carplay and found the best for traffic speed cameras etc is Tom Tom although it’s a payed app. Waze is ok but I cannot get it to send audible alerts just shows them on screen. 
 

I tend to just use them just for traffic and speed cameras without setting a destination as I normally know where I’m going.

Click on the loudspeaker symbol (bottom right hand corner) in “my waze”… you will see the options for audible alerts…

Looked at that it says sound on but still nothing coming through on carplay the alerts flash up on screen but no sound

Hi and welcome to the club!   I have a YC Dynamic with Smart Connect and it does display the speed cameras and traffic hold ups BUT it depends on the cloud connection for the latest conditions. It also relies on drivers registering new traffic conditions which Toyota has made fairly easy.a

This relies on a good mobile signal and the Toyota servers working reliably. Unfortunately these can be intermittent and recently have been busy due to the deployment of the updated MyT app.

When it works it is good enough but I usually cross check traffic conditions with Google Maps via Android Auto. Neither are brilliant but together I get a reasonable understanding of the driving conditions.

@Ralph H, do the other ‘sounds’ come through, like directions etc ?

Yeah if I set a destination it works. The only app I’ve found that works in “passive” mode is TomTom so I ended up stumping up the £20 annual subscription fee

Rarely used satnav so far as car is only a few weeks old …used at the weekend and used Waze set to “alerts only” and that worked fine for avg speed cameras and for a warning about at stationary car at side of M6, presumably reported by another ‘Wazer’..
