Key fob or key remote for RAV4.5 (only one given to me) !

Did people get more than one key fob or remote for their RAV4.5?

I was told there was an issue from my dealer and only one remote was given out. The second one will be arriving in April sometime. I will need to take the car in as they will connect the new remote to it.

I have yet to call the dealer to find if the remotes have come into them.

Are people getting their second remote yet?

Toyota issued a press release last year saying that some cars in some markets would only get one smart key initially (I thought it said you would get an additional standard key) in order to manage the shortage of semiconductors and to avoid even longer delays to delivery times. I wasn't sure if it applied to the UK market.

They should be supplying the second key free of charge from what I read, so you get the car with a smart key and a dumb key, and then when stock is available they give you the second smart key.

I'm glad they really are honouring this, as a load of Yaris Mk4 owners only got one remote key while keyless models got 2 smart keys, which I thought was outrageous, but this was put down to the chip shortage and that they were supposed to get a 2nd remote key when they became available.

I am a bit curious about this chip shortage now tho', as I've heard chip manufacturing plants are being shut down due to insufficient demand, so how the heck can there be insufficient demand AND a shortage?!

and mine, which I received intravenously, they gave me a key and the second one hasn't arrived yet

I picked up my Rav4 2 weeks ago and just got the one Smart key + a skeleton type one .  I was told it was to avoid delaying cars further + the second smart key would arrive in due course.
