Avensis T25 Facelift vs Prefacelift mechanically advice

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and just have a question. Sorry if its a stupid one but I recently bought a 2007 facelift Avensis estate 1.8 petrol and there is a rattle from the gearbox.

Had it confirmed from my local garage it's a bearing and now in the midst of trying to get the dealer to pay for the repair/replacement under Consumer rights act.

I just wanted to know if I was to get a second hand gearbox from a breakers, is the prefacelift Avensis (2003-2006) the same mechanically as the facelift one (2006-2009) that I have so if I bought a gearbox from any avensis 1.8 pre or post facelift etc it wouldn't make any difference or is there slight differences with stuff like mounting holes and brackets etc?

Thanks
