Title explains it really. When putting my foot down the rpm are rising but the car itsself is slow to move then it suddenly kids in and I'm off. Been told its the maf sensor I dint know where it is or how to clean it or is it worth just replacing ?

What do you mean by the rpm is rising but the car is slow to move? Do you mean, like it's rising much faster than the car is accelerating?

May be a worn clutch if that's the case...

Who reckons its the MAF sensor and did they say why? I don't think the MAF sensors are common problem items on the Mk1's - The only people who I vaguely remember having issues with them were people that used K&N filters  Even then, popping them out and spraying them with some electrical switch cleaner, letting them dry then popping them back in usually fixed them.
