Hybrid power system has stopped...

Then something about shifter but the message went in a flash before I could read it properly.

So, starts the car, about to pull off, and no power. Shifter in drive D from P when I started up. Nothing I could do with changing shifter position. R, D, P. Tried all. No power. Had to switch off and back on again following the usual IT rule of thumb!

This has occurred in the past on a couple of occasions but probably 12 months back now.

Been fine since.

Any ideas?

Did you start up in P Nick and then shift to D to pull off ?

No clear from your post, as it sounds like you started up in D ?

Had something similar a while back but assumed I’d knocked the drive select. No issues before or since them.

I can get this if try to start and set off too quickly for the electronics to keep up.

Simple one, you had it in AUX mode not ready mode, it will flash up Shift to park, or you shifted just as you pressed the start button

it's just a quirk, i have done it myself a few times - slow down to go fast !!

Started up normally. P, brake pedal down, press start. All normal until I shifted to D and attempted to pull off. No power on the transmission. Then error message.

Possible. It was just the message sounded serious and I was in D drive 'after' starting up normally. Just attempting to pull away.

You may likely been putting the car into ON mode but not ready to drive mode. This is happening if you press start button twice without holding on to the brake pedal. For some reason this can happen also when you press the brake and then start button after the car had a new Battery, low voltage in the 12v Battery or negative terminal been disconnected for service procedures. Then you need to release brake, press the brake pedal again and then push start button again and the car will go into ready mode.
When the car is set into ON mode all lights comes on the dashboard and can trick you think you are all set into ready mode.

Could be that Tony. I need to do some scientific tests.
