Rav 4 ( 1999 ) knocking on full lock

Hi fairly new owner here, my rav4 has a knocking noise on full steering lock at slow speeds. Other than that drives fine problem is only there on very slow turns reverse and forwards. Took it to one garage they had a little drive said it could be the diff, took it to another garage he had a little drive and he said it could be solenoid ( whatever that is ) . Anyone had a similar experience with this?

From the symptoms described it sounds like worn drives.

Ahh thanks for the reply, guessing i need to get a mechanic to take a proper good look at it then. Big job im assuming?

From what i can remember i think right hand lock is a lot worse than left

Just had a look round and found this thread which Anchorman posted.

This is what the noise sounds like IF it is a CV joint, your knock might not be this
