I use to be part of another forum specific to Toyota Estima owners but that forum seems to have gone the way of the dodo. Such is life...

I had a 2000 Toyota Estima, Aeras that served me well on many a roadie here in New Zealand but unfortunately that was totalled in an accident and is gone.

Since then my wife and I have been plotting to get another Toyota, ideally a hybrid Estima as those seem to have enough horsepower to pull a caravan but with the efficiency of a hybrid engine but we do have a lot of questions so hopefully can find some answers here.

Anyone have experience with the Estima hyrbrids? I guess I'll have a look around the forums and see what I find or start a new thread. Here's hoping!

Cheers,
PauliEstima

Welcome, Paul...personally I wouldn't over-estimate the efficacy of a hybrid Estima, particularly if you are towing.

To me, the "leccy" element doesn't seem to offer that much benefit tbh, but no doubt many will disagree and find them worthwhile....just not for me I'm afraid and I'll stick with my V6 which has given me impressive and reliable service for over 7 years now.

Thanks for the input!

Yeah, I'm a bit torn here as we need a larger vehicle for hauling family to and from things around local but also need to have a vehicle that can tow our caravan, although that will only be occasionally.

We want something reasonably fuel efficient as I need it for occasional errands and picking up and dropping off things so a hybrid seems a good fit for this part of it but the occasional towing is the hard thing to figure in.
