Interested In Buying A Estima Hybrid and Love Advice!

Hi,

As the title says, we're in the market for a Estima hybrid, likely in the older models due to our budget (2006, 07, 08, 09, ish), and would like to hear from other owners on their experiences with these older Estima hybrids?

  • Were there any mechanical issues and/or things to look out for?
  • Battery/charging issues?
  • How was the fuel savings? Worth buying for that?
  • How about horsepower? Could it pull a medium size sort of caravan (caravan weight = 1393Kgs, loaded = 1555kgs)?
  • Any ideas on questions to ask when making enquiries?

In advance, much thanks for the info! Looking forward to hearing from some folks!

Cheers,
Pauli

For what it’s worth, these are great vehicles.

Troubles come beyond ten years for hybrids as batteries may need replacing.

Check wear on steering shaft bearing.

Not suited to towing IMO, due to the CVT transmission.

See my reply on your intro post

...but, as Paul suggests, I wouldn't buy 10+ years old hybrid Estima..and certainly not for towing.

Too many potential Battery issues for my liking.
