Quick update. Haven't had any issues with the PHEV. Not been on the forum so much.

Covered about 3000 miles in the past 5 weeks on long business trips and driving around the North lakes for pleasure up at the second home (a van).

Been up a lot of muddy unpaved trails with zero problems including some pretty steep inclines and over a few large rocks.

Car is great. No issues with the Battery going flat, that was definitely all down to the telemetry module (DCM?) and the update fixed it all several months back.

Still not repeated the power loss issue and the strange message about hydrid power and the shifter position. That could have been operator incompetence.

Getting about 52 miles per charge at the moment and about 53mpg. No trying involved. Just driving normally. Result.

I'm definitely going to get another of these when I need to swap it next year (company car). May try for the GR Sport Model if I can get hold of one and depending upon how hard the ride is and ground clearance. Big if.

Hope everyone is doing good with their PHEVs?

Is that 52 miles actual real world range? My understanding is GR Sport is purely a trim spec and nothing to do with any ‘go faster’ mods.

52 miles per charge, real world, measured off the odometer. Driving around mostly in normal mode, mostly dual carriageway at 40 to 50mph. Optimum performance is circa 45 to 50mph from memory (I scraped the internet and produced a series of range Vs speed curves for different ambient temperatures). Theoretical maximum at optimum speed and temperature is about 62 miles. Posted the charts here a while back.

GR Sport will have a different suspension (stiffer, better handling) in addition to minor trim changes. However, my dealer said it will also come with some of the US market goodies like the digital rear view and panoramic cameras. But for me I'd take it for any of the suspension or panoramic cameras.

Yesterday I got 46 miles on a charge at motorway speeds, AC on etc. 2 up. Quite happy with that and 50mpg for the hybrid remainder of the journey.

That's pretty good going Ernie.

My figures were with air con off. That usually gets you another 3 miles or so.
