Where to Stage 1 or 2 tune my CH-R

Hello,

My name is Janwillem and i living in Holland. And a proud owner of a 1.2T 2016 Toyota CH-R. My first Toyota ever, since i am traditional a Audi owner. However once i saw the CH-R it was love at first sight and decides to buy that after being loyal for 24 years to Audi... Yes i was a diehard Audi fan, was. So for the first time i drove a strange brand, with no idea what the performance was or not even knowing how it would drive. Cause honestly i did not test drive a CH-R. Just went to the dealer and ask them to buy one from a fellow dealership (they all belong to the same company), paid for it and that was that.

Well that was 4 years ago and ever since i enjoy the car...... untill 6 month ago when i changed jobs and instead of 8 minutes within the city i am now driving 103km in the morning and another 103km back home. And now i am starting to miss my Audi. Cause the CH-R is everything i can wish for; it drives nice, road behavious and corners can be taken with acceptable speed. But, but the acceleration is very, very bad, i mean its terrible. Honestly i dont mind the 184km top speed, which is dont drive that much so i can overlook that. But its too slow to my way of driving.

So since a few weeks i am searching for a company to tune the car. I did somekind of tuning where they installed somekind of powerpbox and indeed its faster, but consumes more petro. So basically it give the engine more gass and yes that does make it faster. But i am searching everywhere and have visited 2 dozen tuners and emailed Toyota Netherlands, but non of them can help me. 

I am looking for a company who can help me, i dont mind buying a new exhaust inclusive Cat, and an improved turbo, and other parts when needed. So i am willing to put in some effort and money. Has to be with some proportion. But i am the kind of guy to pay buttons for max result. So is there anybody who can provide me with the software or guidelines to tune the ECU or supply a race ECU, which i can install or bring to a proffesional tuner so they can adjust the car.

I did some changes and got another 20 horses, but by far not enough. 

Hope someone can help me.

You will not make any gains without ecu tuning, all adding a filter and exhaust will do is make noise and cause the car to run rich

1.2T is the wrong engine for your use TBH save the money and get a 1.8

In the UK there are a few Toyota tuners and parts suppliers like Fensport and DC performance

Hi Flash22,

Thanx for the reply and link. With the intro i tried to keep it brief. But for your reference, but still thanx for the feedback. I know that doing anything at the moment is pretty pointless without modifying the ECU. As you mention and as i found out, even buying a much bigger or more powerfull turbo has no sense without the support of the ECU. 

Regarding the link, thats what i have done so far, but the result is not bad, but far from what i want. I just want it too tune as many normal cars, such as VW Golf or the famous Honda Civics. But unfortunately the model is too young and not popular enough for the tuners yet. Thus nobody has cracked the software yet and made it available for the tuning companies.

As for the car which is a 12T, yes i bougth this for a reason. I am a bit old fashion about this and find Zero pleasure in driving an Automatic. Here in holland only 1.2t is hand-shifted-gear, all else is standard automatic. Evethough the 1.8 and 2.0 are more powerfull from the start, they offer me little driving fun. 

As background info, the car doesnt need to be fast from the traffic lights, but must be reacting fast and contain more HP for use on the highway or in case i want to take over other cars. For that reason i am looking for more HP. I dont have a serious goal or something that it must have x amount of HP or has to be the fastest or something like that. Just want it to drive and behave like i am use too, when i hit the pedal it actually does something and when i am taking a hill it doesnt run backwards in speed 🙂 

So i am on the search for tuning and most likely it will be a waiting game for the day that the software is availble for the open market.
