Well I have my opinion that if all cars disappear from the roads for some reason, or all manufacturers stop making cars except a Corolla there won’t be any problem to me as long as there is any Corolla available. Here a whole country that thinks like me.

They seem to do well in the Middle Eastern countries and down under.

To be honest I never imagined myself buying a Toyota, I went round looking ar cars with my mate as he wanted a car, first we looked at Puma's and almost bought one then we went to Toyota and ended up buying the Corolla design in grey which I loved the look of, so 2 months later I treated myself to one .

I think of my 2020 Corolla hatchback 1.8 hybrid as an “appliance”. It’s there to facilitate what I want to do in life rather than being the star of the show. Yesterday I drove my bike 18.8 miles home after a day cycling in the countryside with friends. I got 79.4mpg according to the app. It’s a nice, unfussy car to drive and I have the balance of a 10 year warranty. In terms of being fit for purpose if it’s not the best car in the world then it’s close.

For me the Corolla ( Auris called 2007-2018 in uk) is not just an appliance as I do work with it, I am not a cabby but I do drive even more than them and I spent in 12 hrs + every day.  The miles I do can be easily over 200, or even 300 per shift therefore the car is more like a professional tool for me than anything else and tbh it does it’s job best of all cars I had previously. I have no intentions to change it for another make or model and when dies I will simply just buy another one as I don’t really see anything that can be better suited for my needs. Good job Toyota 👌

I can only afford one car so mine has to do everything from commuting me to work to being something for a weekend hoon, not to mention being an airport taxi for the parents or a festival taxi for friends, or mule for taking stuff to the recycling dump

But it does all of these things very well without skipping a beat

They're not super flash (Well, the newer models are a bit  ), but where other manufacturers have their strengths, Toyotas has always been their reliability and dependability.

I've watched probably all YouTube reviews for Lexus es300h and although I haven't ever driven, or even been inside one I think it is the best car (for me) for this price. One reviewer even said doctors MUST prescribe this Lexus for people with high pressure - it is soo relaxing car to drive your blood pressure goes down as soon as you get behind the wheel

^ THIS. I do like to look after mine - regularly (and carefully) washed, 6 monthly coat of Colinite wax, and tucked up in the garage when not in use

Many people in the UK seem to have an obsession with driving something with a 'premium' Badge nowadays and as a result the Corolla gets overlooked here, which is a great shame I think. After all it's one of the few cars which is still built here! As I get older I've long since given up any idea of wanting to impress anyone and like to drive a car that just works properly, and generally speaking Toyotas do that.

Now I know where all the E10 Corollas have gone. One of my old ones with 140k on the clock sold on eBay to an exporter.
