Look what they did to my ...

Well... there goes the shiny look and feel, just when I was thinking the first 1000mi have been uneventful...

I discovered this damage to the right side yesterday during a routine tyre pressure check,

It extends from the wheel side and all the way up to the parking sensor...

Pretty sure this wasn't me while driving, at least I would have noticed...

I downloaded the Nextbase videos to see if I could find the culprit and found nothing in there either.

Parking mode of Nextbase is apparently useless and I thought the car was supposed to scream !Removed! murder when it was dinged like this (or am I mistaken and it takes more damage before it triggers an alarm, ...does it even have one?)

Any recommendations on what to do (from insurance/PCP/rust risk) or is this "considered" normal wear and tear?

That will buff out with some mild compound then re-coat with polish, RUST i hope not it is plastic, insurance - it is not worth the hassle for something so minor

at a guess, it was something small and white like a Fiat 500 or a corsa

I have similar damage on the NSF of my bumper, I know the culprit though, and you’d never guess.

It was a Cat, with its collar, rubbing its head all over the bumper to leave its scent!
Scratched the bumper quite deep, I managed to get some of it out with polish but the black plastic is not repairable so I’ve put bumper black on it for now.
We think it’s one of our stuffy neighbours cats, if I catch it on the drive it gets abuse, the other day I scared it off and it missed its footing and fell off the wall, small wins. 😏

I glad that I've had my Mk4 long enough I'm not so precious about it now.

The one good thing about my otherwise horrible Mk2 was I didn't care about it at all and would drive through puddles, clip bushes/foliage etc. and absolutely not care, but with the Mk4 I was scared to go over speed bumps too quickly in the first few months of ownership!!

I've used the smart repair scratch insurance once so far, for where one of my friends and his stupid key chain scratched one of my doors, and they did a great job - The repair is indistinguishable, and he even re-coated the ceramic coating over the affected area too!

Currently my car is so dirty I probably wouldn't be able to tell if it had any scratches, but I find this also keeps people away from it because they don't want to get the dirt on them so it has its advantages :naughty:

I just need to figure out how to attach some rusty jagged Mad Max spikes to keep the SUVs away...

I've had my previous aygo 'tapped' by drivers in car parks, damage like that will buff out with a decent polish and a bit of T-cut no trouble

Just machine buff and it will be as good as new. The white marks looks like a paint from the other vehicle that did it.

You will not believe this... there's a cat in the home opposite to where my parking spot is. The cat was eyeing me funny while I was examining the scratch and taking pictures. To think of it, it is the right height too! Damn cats!

The little pest damaged the bumper on my previous car which was a deep metallic red, made a proper mess of that as well.

I do live semi rural so plenty of Foxes in the area which put its 9 lives at risk….

Somebody has scratched the grey plastic trim over the wheel arch on my front near side.  The light compound stuff won’t work on it. I think I will have to get the ChipsRUs people out.

We had a very cross dog years ago who hated cats, and he trapped a cat in the corner of our backyard one day. He finished up with a !Removed! badly cut up nose cut to ribbons by the cats claws 🤣😂. He was taught a salutary lesson that day 👏👏

My friend's cat was like that - All the neighbour dogs were scared of it apparently!!

All I know was she was very aggressive in demanding head rubs and back scratches, and would just keep headbutting your legs until you did her bidding!!
