New rav4 coming?

Hey folks, I have a dealer calling me with, what I can only say is a brilliant deal on a rav4 PHEV dynamic - new registered but for delivery before end of year.

Its a silly deal and just wondering if they are trying to clear a cancelled order before a new model is anounced

Any insight from the group?

Thanks, Chris

As the current Rav4 has only been on sale for just over 4 years, doubt a new model is close.

Are you saying it will be a pre-reg???

I would expect a mid life facelift in the next year along with a longer range Battery for EV running. Beyond that it will be a good few years before a full replacement. My guess is they are dealing to hit their target and associated bonus.

thanks for the comments, sorry, yes it is brand new, not pre-registered - my terminology flaw there.

I had said no but then realised he was talking about a Dynamic Premium whereas mine is a Dynamic.  I wanted the premium originally but couldnt find one so now the deal chasing begins!  I fear the draw of bells and whistles, coupled by inventive man-maths is going to drown out the noise of sensibility on this one!

New car deals have suddenly returned to the market. VW for example, are once again offering significant deposit contributions (upto £2500) across most of their range with relatively competitive finance rates. Jaguar are offering low finance and have come across other brands having to offer incentives to get sales.

canelled orders will be an increasingly common occurrence as consumer confidence wobbles and unemployment rises. My employer went bust last week so I am now a statistic looking for a job. The impact of redundancy is such our holiday to Italy in September is ditched, ordered new house windows on hold and the part paid holiday to Austria looking doubtful. I will not get any money until July at the earliest, according to the receivers.

Check If it is a genuine Dynamic Premium - with JBL and HUD et .

Hi all.... I concur, many manufacturers continue to promote PHEV's.

Honda most recently announced their new SUV, offering a PHEV with a 50 mile EV range.

IMO a longer range will do lots for the RAV & the amazing CVT.

LONG LIVE PHEV's .......Barry Wright, Lancashire.

Adrian, yes verified its a preimum with the JBL, pana roof and HUD.  I dont think i have got an amazing deal but I am happy, I am sure there will be better deals available as availability becomes more common.  The deal will feel better if I sell mine privately between now and the new one arriving.

Sorry to hear of your employment woes, I hope it all gets sorted quickly and relatively painlessly.

Off topic but in support of a fellow member and valued contributor.....

Sorry to hear this Adrian. Similar happened to my wife last year. The biggest delay was getting the reference number you need for the claim from the government. You need to pester the people dealing with the insolvency daily because they have no incentive to look after the employees and it will be low on their priority list. The good news (and you may find it surprising) is that once you get the claim reference number, it is quite straightforward and fairly quick to get your redundancy entitlement. You have to wait for that before you can claim the notice pay separately but again it was days rather than weeks. One bit of advice from her experience - make sure you claim unemployment benefit immediately. They will deduct anything you could have claimed for unemployment benefit from day 1 from any claim regardless of if you got it.

Best wishes and good luck with finding new work.

Thanks for the off-topic reply. I am 66 so not sure I can claim unemployment benefits…. and to be honest I have been flat out job hunting and attending networking events most of the week so not yet had time to register.

On the subject of new RAV4 - I am assuming there will need to be changes and potentially significant ones with the introduction of EURO7 engines in a couple of years (subject to acceptance given current manufacturer push back according to the press)

I guess for Toyota with their stated intention of using solid state batteries in PHEV configurations plus the ambition for much higher PHEV Battery capacity, we could be in for an interesting next evolution of the RAV4.
