1.8 Corolla Verso 2008 Fuel Smell on starting

Hi Guys any ideas on this one,

I have a 1.8 Corolla Verso 2008, and about three months ago I noticed every now and then, about once in every three times I could smell fuel when starting and for about 20 seconds after, nothing while driving, cannot find any leaks under the bonnet near the fuel rail, the filter, pipework, and no signs of fuel leaks under the car, no smell of GAS when the car stops, just the 1 in 3 starts, I generally keep the car topped up at least over 1/2 way, more than usual 3/4 full.

Fuel consumption appears to be the same as always.

Any suggestions for a solution would be gratefully received.

Hope you never overfill the tank. Overfilling can kill expensive evap canister. Many people unnecessarily fuel the tank to the neck of the fuel tank. It kills EVAP instantaneously
