Auris hybrid wheel covers for when the car is not in use

Hi all,

I had my new covers fitted today preparing the car for its earned break.
The wheel covers fit perfectly fine for my tyres 205/55 16, they will actually be ok for all Auris wheels sizes but not bigger than that. Really good material and design, has hooks behind that secure the covers and these aren’t easy to clip or unclip. I bought a car cover too , but highly recommended to anyone do not buy the cheapest one and if you need a cover best to buy some known brands. I am returning mine, cheap and nasty. It went off 5 min after been fitted 😂 I only wanted to protect the headlights as the car is parked against the sun but will think of something else, maybe just cover the lenses with something.
Here the covers, I have smaller ones but if your car has 17 “ and above like for Yaris cross or Avensis or Rav4 buy bigger sizes. 👌

Final touches today, the headlights are now covered too against the sun ☀️
The bonnet can be open within removing those for emergency start or to recharge the Battery if needed.
The idea is minimal expense maximum protection. 👌

  • 4 weeks later...

We usually never put covers on the car UNLESS it's inside a vented garage. This because the moist will be trapped leading to the cover causing more damage than good.

Thanks for your comment.
I will check that by the end of the week when will remove those for a first time after almost 5 weeks. It has been very dry, hot and sunny here so I don’t know if anything those had helped but they also protects agains sun. I see people with campers use them while parked at spots for a couple of weeks. These has open design on the rear and bottom, they should not hold any moisture, but will confirm that over the weekend. And we had some rain yesterday and eventually we’ll have again tomorrow. 👍

You are lucky Tony, to have your personal/house parking lots.  I have a friend who did what you do but on the side road parking. The city give him pretty hefty parking ticket because the city police cannot see the validity of the plate number.  It makes sense that unregistered or undrivable car should not be parked on the public space.

Authorities are insane these days everywhere’s around the world. I read reviews about these covers even the whole car covers and people are say that they use these on cars parked on the public roads. I remember when I was a child back in my country many cars had covers on top and some even had the number plate painted on the cover, perhaps this man should have done it too. I returned my full car cover because was very poor quality. Yesterday wiped the whole car after the heavy rain and now is all clean as it was the day I parked in 31 days ago. Very soon will be driving it, can’t wait honestly. 😉

I found that putting the aluminum Styrofoam foil outside, covering the windshield is more effective than placing it inside. Just a tip. As long as no one dare to steal it. Those shields cost pretty cheap from Aldi/Lidl

Just unpacked the car ready to drive. The wheel covers are great. No rust or any moisture,  just little bit of dust and spider nets., worth the hassle. Easy to remove  the hooks, but it was not so easy to hook up when installing them. All in all very happy. And the smell of new tyres it’s so strong and so good.
Let see how the car drives now. 😉
