Car dies when turning wheel

I have an auris Sr 180 2008. Car has been sitting for about two years. When I turn the wheel left or right the car dies. And Battery had parasitic drain. New Battery was in about 2 months ago and its dead again. Any help?

Probably still has parasitic drain Michael unless you have fixed the problem.

Is it electric assisted steering as it sounds like the steering is drawing the last of the power from the system ?

Also sounds like the alternator isn't supplying enough power to the system to keep the engine running ?

If it is hydraulic power steering then the steering pump may be siezed with blocked valves.

After the new Battery installed, have the car been use at all.

Auris has electric steering.

Electric power steering uses a lot of power, you can sometimes see the lights dim a bit when you start turning the wheel.

Car worked fine in those 2 months, or the turning the wheel always killed the car, even with new Battery?
