Hello:

My mom has a 97 Camry that she wants the fuel filter changed. The Haynes manual states to relieve the fuel pressure, remove the rear seat and disconnect disconnect from the fuel pump. then start the car and let it cut off....PROBLEM...there is no connector...it's all straight through wiring. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading this and have a good day.

Alrite bud! i do these all day long and Toyota and haynes etc only say relieve pressure to stop petrol dripping onto the floor from the fuel pipe!

No need! Just place a tray under the car to catch any excess fuel release the fuel cap and remove the pipe from the bottom of the filter first! (14mm)

Then remove the 17mm bolt on the top of the filter, and remove the filter from the car! (2 10mm bolts!)

Fit the new one and start the car up! It will take a little while to start but just keep on turning it over until it fires!
