Just about to purchase a 2019 corolla touring  sports 2.0,on the equipment lists it states it has Apple car play and android auto and kick sensor for power tailgate yet according to the salesman it doesn't have  them,it's the top spec excel so I don't understand how it can't have them,anyone else had this?

As for Android auto and Apple car play were not available at on 2019-2020 corolla at launch. An update was later available for those features but can only be applied by technician for a fee, £125 standalone or £50 with a service. Not sure if those prices are current these days.

Of course the previous owner could have had the upgrade installed - best to get the dealer (service rather than sales) to confirm whether or not the upgrade has been installed.

If not, see whether the dealer will install the upgrade either as part of the sale or at the reduced price when done with a service (presume it will be serviced before collection?).

Kick sensor also wasn't available originally (at least on my 2019 1.8).

The dealership may be using the current equipment list, rather than the one appropriate to the age of the car, to generate their listings. I have seen this on a few sites, MY23 specs were being shown for older cars.

Yes I think you are correct but it's annoying, makes me wonder what else isn't included that's is listed,shouldn't be allowed to do it,it's false advertising

Annoying, definitely - but I think it's because they use an automated system rather than deliberate false advertising. (I'd liken it to the way that the sales staff in a dealership are usually ignorant of the details of the model I'm interested in...)

Absolutely, explaining how it might be happening shouldn't hide the fact that it's misleading and (I should think) illegal. Be interesting to know what trading standards make of it.

PLawso, To check 2019 corolla has Apple carplay/android auto.

In site search field, using "topics" search parameter, type    "Proof my 2019 touch2 mm17 has been upgraded"     with the quotation marks.
