to those with a mk1 aygo and a/c , how powerfull would you say it is ?

mine cools but isnt as powerfull as some cars ive been in , not sure if new gas would help or are they a bit poor due to being a small cheap car ?

Mine cools fine. Try changing the cabin filter. This made a big difference to the throughput on mine. It was absolutely filthy even though the service history said it had been changed regularly.

Hi,

The AC in the Aygo is very basic compared to the AC in bigger cars. I remember it blew fresh air so it was cold out of the pipes but the ambiant air indoor remained somewhat hot.

And the main problem is that it affects performance when used, as if losing 20 HP.

Of course, I would recommand a maintenance.

filter is recent and does cool , just not sure its as powerfull as some other cars ive been in , i wondered if it was smaller components due to engine size

i didnt want to pay for a regas if no improvement

I've had a Mk1 and Mk2, and both have weak AC units. It takes a while to cool the car down. But after a while, it will be like driving in the arctic, it just takes time!

At least they're reliable little units.

Further advice: drive with your windows down for the first minute or so and have the AC on full blast pointing at your feet to push the warm air out of the car.

Regassed mine and added new cabin filter, it's surprisingly quite nippy.

I DIY regassed after a commercial place failed to find a leak, a loose sensor on the high pressure pipe. It's worked fine for over 12 months. Not as powerful as my car, but certainly keeps you cool enough.

yes its very welcome this time of year , and for clearing winter mist
