Avensis oil capacity

Hi

I took out the new diy oil pump to try it, after 10m i end up taking out 6.2L of oil from the engine...(so easy why didnt try it before)...

How can it be ?!

Avensis 2018 1 8L petrol, how much engine oil does it have in total ?

I end up adding new fresh oil 5.2L for now ... 

I think i had all the time too much oil (1 L too much 😞can it be ?!

i think the pump takes out more engine oil then from the drain plug (i took out 6.2L), full service is 4.2L (drain plug), oil filter its 0.3L, so how much oil does dry 1.8L petrol engine have in total, dry ... ?

its hard to see the oil level on the stick when the oil is new ...

If indeed more oil came out than its maximum capacity, it has been overfilled.

That is why it is easy to put too much in.

So if i add now 5.2L then i need to take out 1L more ?

What does your handook say the capacity is, 4.2L and 0.3L for the filter?

yes for service oil replace (from the plug). it can be that the pump take out more oil then the plug, it goes inside and suck it all ...

i took another 0.5L off, now have 4.7L , let say plus the filter and what left inside, i have in total 5L oil in the system.

before i had 6.5L, i had 1.5L more all this time without knowing 😞 .

it was my luck of buying this pump i'm sure most of the people don't know the right amount of oil, its hard to see from the stick, so they just adding and adding, the pump takes it all out then it easy to add the exact amount of what needed.

The pump won't take out more oil than a plug that is at the bottom of the sump, it isn't possible.

so how i took 6.2L out from the system ?

i read that the drain plug doesn't take all out, there is still 1L inside the system, i'm not sure about that.

I read that the moon was made of cheese, that doesn't mean that it is.

A pump can't take out more than a sump plug, it just isn't possible.  Whoever said that it is possible is an eejit.
