Hi all. Newbie question here, I've tried searching to no avail.

What oil is recommended for a 2008 Estima 2.4 petrol please? And which oil filter? Euro Car Parts don't recognise my registration number as it's an import.

I am using 10w30. The filter is available via eBay, just about to order one and an air filter.

I use 5w/30 in my V6....and as John GW says, easily available from eBay....as are all your usual service parts.

I've always used Blueprint parts.

If you use toyoDIY or Megazip web sites and put your frame number in, then it will bring up all the details for your Estima.

I just went to EuroCar Parts website. If you put in the vehicle details rather than the Reg it comes up with the two oil filter options, the air filter is there as well, several manufacturers different prices.

Couldnt see the cabin pollen filter though, believe its the same as the Rav 4 2.2 diesel one.

Edit: Rav4 is thicker so wont fit.

Pollen filters are also there but you have to use the search and there are options on Std filters or acitivated charcoal.

It takes about 30 seconds to remove.  Take it out and see, it'll have a part number on it.

Thanks but its not a problem, its on the EuroCar Parts site, what I meant is it didnt appear on the list of consumable parts, had to search for it by pollen filter.

Update and warning.

The oil filter is the correct dimensions externally 65mm dia and around 85mm long. But the problem is the toyota filter threaded part is almost flush with the gasket face, the Eurocar Parts one isnt, it dishes in by around 5-6mm so will not screw on. This was the Mahle Knecht pt no 501 81 0014.

I will return it and see if they have one that does fit properly.

They will be able cross refer the one that fits to ones they sell or can order you , if you have any trouble send me the part number that fits correct and I’ll get you original part number or after market on Tuesday morning

Thank you, I will be back there tomorrow to check other manufacturers versions. My original has the No 4TP 124 10016

Update on the oil filter. Checked available stock at EurocarParts. All are dished in but best option would be the Bosch version ECP No 501820037 as this had minimal depression on the thread so you would most likely get 3 turns hand tight (just).

I went to GSF parts, who I prefer anyway. They have a different mann filter W610/9 which gave me 2.5 turns of thread just about enough IMO but does seal. It is the same filter as the 2.4 petrol Camry because its the same engine, unless anyone knows differently but may be handy when trying to order for a Jap import that isnt recognised by Toyota or number plate.

Would a Previa oil filter fit?

Posted

Who knows? The 2.4 is a Camry engine so anything that fits that should fit. The Previa is a much earlier unit a lot of which were diesel. I have given a lot of information about what does fit including the part numbers

I think the ADT 32112 (blueprint) filter should fit.

Obtainable on eBay.

Have a look at the Bilstein Group website and enter the details of your model in the parts search.
