A few questions for the Estima 'old hands'

Recommended Posts

I'm picking up my freshly imported Estima next week, and have a few questions that hopefully the Estima experts here can help with.

1. Has anyone ever come across an English owners manual? I know this is very unlikely for a JDM car but you never know! Even a Previa/Tarago manual might be useful.

2. Is there any way to check which options your car came with? Like a VIN decoder? I heard that things like automatic parking and lane keep assist were options, but I'm not sure how I would know.

3. I've heard that roof rails can be fitted - has anyone done this and can recommend a good make/model? Google isn't giving me any info.

4. Servicing - any import-friendly Toyota specialists in the West London / South Bucks / Berks area?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Japanese Domestic Market vehicles have frame numbers rather than VINs

3. You see the occasional advert on eBay etc for roof racks but they are in the £400 bracket. Thule stopped their version some time ago. There are no fixing points for roof bars as far as I can see, when I get to see a scrapped Estima I will see if there are any of the old anchorage points from the Previa days on the Estimas.

Let us know how you get on please. I couldn't figure out how to get the foot pack as it was greyed out so moved on as I have other stuff to do at the moment.

You need to order through their UK distributor : https://www.roofbox.co.uk

Select your vehicle make and model and it shows you which roof bars will fit. It only shows the Cruz bars for the Estima, and the correct fitting kit is preselected. Very easy.

The roof bars and fitting kit arrived today so delivery was pretty quick. I don't pick the car up for another 10 days so I can't comment on how well it fits yet!

I finally got around to fitting these roof bars, they were a bit fiddly as adjusting the width is trial and error, but they fit well and look good.
