Metalic sound

I want to ask is it normal when you start the car there is a metal on metal sound when you start the car. When you start and stop it re appears, weve been told that its there so that blind people can hear the car. Is this true ?

So, there are 2 things this can commonly be:

1) The AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alert System) - This is a sort of spooky ghost whirring sound that the car makes to alert pedestrians at low speeds, but it only does it while the car is moving and the tone changes with the speed

2) The EPB (Electronic Parking Brake) - This is like a loud whirring sound that activates when you take the car in and out of P(ark), caused by the screw clamps on the rear brake disks engaging/disengaging with the brake disc.

Think a 2019 Rav4 is too early for AVAS to be fitted.

It is not coming from the engine but it is a singular metalic noise when you start driving. I think it is coming from the back right side. When you start moving you can hear it at first and when you stop at a light and move again you hear it again.

Brakes issue, could be anything really. if the car is still under warranty best to book a visit to the dealer and let them check for you.
