Lane Assist Feature

Hi just got the 2023 Rav4 excel.

I don't seem to be able to cancel this feature. The feature would be great on long journeys on motorways etc., but, not locally. I find the steering tries to force me to stay when crossing a line. Does anybody know how to stop this feature?

Lane keep assist became compulsory on new vehicles from 2022. On some cars one may be able to disable it temporarily, but it will usually re-enable when the ignition is next turned on.

On most of the current models you either have to go through the Dashboad settings menu to turn it off, or hold down the LKA button (Looks like 2 parallel dashed lines with a car driving diagonally across one of them) for something like 3-5 seconds.

Pressing it briefly turns it all on again, or if it's already on toggles between the LKA (Gently-try-to-stay-within-lane-lines) and LTA (Cruise control auto-steering).
