2014 Rav4 2ltr diesel using a lot of diesel

Hi, 

2014 Rav4 just bought with 100000m on the clock and a 2.0ltr diesel. It's just been serviced and Battery was replaced just after service. We drove on motorway doing 180kilometers and it used nearly half a tank of diesel. 

Any ideas please folks and thanks...

Does the power seem okay? Any smoke? I'd be checking the functioning of the turbo, and run some injector cleaner like Liqui Moly through it. Also, I would try to be conscious of how heavy I was with the accelerator and how my speed was. While you are checking into things, keep a nostril and an eye open for any signs of a diesel leak. You haven't noticed any spillages on the ground where it has been parked, for instance?

"nearly half a tank" isn't very accurate measurement 🙂

Fill it up, put trip to 0, drive it 3...5 days, fill it up again and write here how many km (trip) and L (diesel).
