I found an abandoned 1985 Camry

Hi im new here, I found an abandoned 1985 Camry does anyone know where I could find the vin. Thank you

Lift the bonnet, should be on an aluminum plate on the top of the front panel, that’s where they are on most cars.

so there's none on the outside of the car then like new one in the windscreen?

Could be a grey import (Japanese Domestic Market vehicle). These have frame numbers instead of VINs.

Would they be treated the same as VINs are and where abouts on the car would they be found?

No. Visible VINs is a later 'invention' from the 2000s.

Yes. As has been mentioned, they can be found in different locations. Usually on the bulkhead under the bonnet. This can be in form of a riveted aluminium plate or a stamped number, or both.

There's a sticker on the door pillars with the VIN in a lot of them.

In the 80's the door stickers told you about tyre pressures. No one really cared about the serial number. 🙃🙂
