Hi

I am looking for a guide how to assemble and disassemble interior and exterior parts.

and the part number.

Can I get access to these guidelines at Toyota-tech.nu?

 Kind regards

Johannes

If this is against any guidlines then please delete it! There are clues as to who it is though.

Do not be tempted to buy an online access/subscription to that well known publisher of car manuals in which the assembly is the reverse of disassembly.

I bought one for £26 at the time (one make/model/version), still have access, but whether it depends on which make/model/version, most of the information is generic and not specific to a particular vehicle. The only useful information there is torque specification, but even the scope of that is limited. e.g. No torque specified for just a simple thing like a sump drain plug!

Their hard copy repair/maintenance manuals are mostly good though, used them for years on different vehicles. I don't know if they publish a manual for the Yaris? I have never found one.

If they do, I doubt it will go into any detail re interior or exterior trim. Only if relevant to a particular item.

Thanks for that. I was being tempted, as I have used their paper manuals on all my cars over the years. Motorbike as well.

I stand corrected, there is a torque listed for the sump drain plug!

  • "Buy or borrow a torque wrench

Using a torque wrench ensures accurate sump drain plug tightening

If a torque wrench is not used, there is a risk of oil leakage or sump damage

Most modern vehicle bodies are too close to the ground for the oil to be drained without raising the front of the vehicle

Use a trolley jack to raise the vehicle

Support the vehicle with suitable jack stands

  • Be prepared for oil spillage

Unscrewing the oil filter and removing the drain plug will cause the old oil to spill

Keep clean rags available for cleaning up any spillages

The old oil will stain concrete, and can be difficult to remove

  • Check the oil filter seal for damage; renew if necessary

Spin-on type filters have a rubber O-ring seal located in a groove at the end of the filter

After unscrewing the original filter, check that the seal is still in place

If the seal is missing, it may still be stuck to the filter mating surface on the engine

Remove the seal"

etc..

Generic instructions/advice for oil and filter change and not vehicle specific. Similarly for brake pads etc..

There is some useful stuff but definitely nothing about trim removal and more.

It is a one off cost, no subscription and so far no expiry. Needs a log in setting up for access.
