Hi guys first post here

After having the corolla estate hybrid and then having a full electric mg5 for one day and immediately getting getting the prius the next morning due to range issues and I love it !

Couple of questions if anyone can help it's a 2023 and it came with a 3 pin plug cable for home charging and another one that looks just like the connection at a public charger

I won't be be using the 3 pin we have our own dedicated chargers where I am ranging from slow to rapid for free can I plug my prius directly into a fast charger for example or do I need to use the other cable to plug into the car then plug the connector on the charging station into the other end of this cable?

Also the fans blow ice cold on lo and red hot on high but there's no in-between so if I take it to 29 degrees one click below high its just as cold as the coldest setting has anyone else had this issue

Thanks 🚗

The 4th generation Prius/Prius Plug-in were discontinued in the UK in 2022, and the 5th generation is not being officially sold in the UK.

So is yours a late Prius Plug-in that was not registerd until 2023(?)

Looking at that photo I'm guessing I can plug directly into charger maybe second cable is an adapter incase the type 2 isn't available I've not looked at it properly yet

Most public Type 2 fast chargers have a socket, rather than a tethered cable, so you will need the type 2 to type 2 cable to plug your PHEV into the charge point. These are typically the post style chargers you see in car parks.

Rapid chargers provide a high power DC connection using CHAdeMO or CCS connectors, designed to charge up the vehicle in a few tens of minutes upto an hour, the Prius Plugin cannot use these. Some of the rapid chargers also have a Type 2 connector with a tethered cable, these are aimed at certain full EVs which use Type 2 rapid charging, like the Renault Zoe, which can use that higher power, whereas the Prius Plug-in is limited to charging at 3.3kW, so you don't want to be using rapid chargers and tying up the charger because the Prius cannot rapid charge and takes at least a couple of hours to charge up.
