What part is broken, the retractor mechanism or the buckle catch?

The retractor mechanism.

I can't think of it offhand but, you'll probably have to remove some plastic trims to access it.

(I actually had one of those but, never had to touch the seat belts)

In what way is it broken?

Thanks for your reply.

The mechanism not block the cord of seatbelt an Now not retract nothing.

Has the belt been pulled all the way out and won't retract?

I'm not fully understanding your problem.

Pulling hard on the belt will only make it lock up more.  You might have to unbolt the retractor in order to get the belt to go back in.

I understand this.

My problem now is....How unbolt the retractor?

Remove the plastic panel that is covering the retractor.

That's weird; I've had the opposite problem, where it wouldn't come out and would only retract!

The rears can be a bit tricky to get at; Not familiar with the Auris one, but I'm hoping someone (*cough*flash22*cough*) might be able to give you a guide on how to access it...!

If seat belts does not retract easily and feel like no spring mechanics works it might be from dirt that sticks to the belts themselves. A good clean both sides along the whole length might help. If you need to remove the mechanisms themselves to swap with another you will need to remove the boot plastic surrounds aka interior cards starting from the 1,2,3 on the pictures so you can get access to the mechanisms. Those plastics needs to go out when changing shock absorbers too. 👍

When looking for videos on YouTube best to use Toyota, it Prius or Corolla instead of an Auris as those names are more popular worldwide. There are videos for sure and might be helpful even from another models. Here you can watch this video and a picture taken for you. Good luck

OK, this is what I have been reading from manual:

First remove rear seat hinge covers, then rear seat headrests, tilt rear seat forward to remove the bolts and remove the whole seat. Remove the rear door support, then the door seal, remove trunk compartment pannel, floor mat assembly, floor box and anything is there. Now you have access at belt latch assembly, then remove trunk shelf lining, trunk compartment trim, remove rear seat back hinge assembly, seat belt side cover and belt latch assembly. Remove interior light assembly, side trim pannel and rear belt assembly.

It's a little bit complicated without picture, there are more than 20 but I try to post few of them.
