Hello,

Please can someone provide some instructions on how to change the front indicator bulb on a 2009 Avensis?

And which bulb should I buy? Is it this one:

Thanks 🙂

The Owners Manual covers this, if you have the manual. Basically you remove the clips to the panel covering the lights, for easier access. To release the clips push the centre down, then pull the clip out.

The bulb is correct. Toyota can be vague with bulb type - wedge base amber? If in doubt, remove the original bulb so you can compare. At least we know it is 21w - 12v amber.

Quick tip - Do not touch the bulbs. Wear gloves so the grease on your skin does not contaminate the glass, especially for halogen bulbs. I do the same for all bulbs

When replacing the panel clips, make sure the centre of the clips is raised up, insert the clip into the hole, then push the centre down to secure the clip.

I have changed a headlight bulb and the side lights on my Avensis, and it is a lot easier than most other recent cars.

I copied from the online version which is from the later 2011. In my manual (2009), go to page 495.
