Touch 2 system not good with iPhones?

Good afternoon. Has anyone else had issues with the touch 2 system using iPhones? I have a an iPhone and every now and again I have issues with it playing music. It plays for a little bit then it plays 4 seconds into the song then goes to the beginning of the song and it keeps doing this? I’ve tried playing the next couple of songs and exactly the same thing happens. Any ideas please? I’m thinking of getting a aftermarket stereo to resolve this issue.

It's buggy with the later versions of iOS (>13 or 14) when plugged in and using "iPod" as the source.

With an iPhone 6 and iOS 14/15, when I was on a phone call the music would start playing through the phone and the person the other end could hear it!! It didn't do that previously, so something in iOS changed.

With an iPhone 14 Pro and iOS 16, it mostly works, but now if I answer a call, it won't always resume playback. It seems related to my phone nav !Removed!/bugging out the audio subsystem and causing corruption. If I restart the phone, it seems to work normally until I use my nav again.

bluetooth connection seems to work fine, but the audio sounds a little different.
