A Turkish kebab on Limassol usex to cost 15/- including kollinelli.

Went to  Turkish restaurant in Stamford,  £30.  We got a Turkish Delight at the end of the meal.  In Cyprus at Ali's Romantic ladies git a whole box.

How prices have changed in 50 years.

Bob. It was a local Cypriot red wine of potent concoction reputed to melt spoon.  It was given away with the meal.  I think it was about 1/- a bottle but I never had to buy any.

Its close cousin was Limassol Dry Red.  The second glass of which was a very smooth wine.

I thought Mataxa melted a spoon. Well it didn't do my stomach much good when we stayed at an all inclusive hotel in Paphos and decided to somewhat over in dulge after a night out.👍

I used to dive off a Greek Cyp boat at Kyrenia before the invasion.   No drinking before diving.   Once on board, a brandy sour, probably 2*, followed by moussaka and Limassol dry red.

We always enjoyed the kleftico and stiffado with red wine but the demise of Greek restaurants over here and any ones that we have come across don't seem to have any of the older dishes and have been replaced by more modern cuisine.😃

I was in the pub the other day, I asked the barman for a pint of MotherInLaw.

What's that, he said.

Stout and bitter.

Sign outside a bar: “Buy one beer for the price of two and get your second beer absolutely free.”😅
