Toyota Bz4x China Model

Hello everyone, i hope you doing well.

3 Weeks ago i bought a toyota bz4x that came from china brand new 0km. So the problem is that this kind of model uses China Software(Firmware) And I'm unable to use smart phone feature, or unable to activate the car without a Chinese number etc...

My question is there anyway to change the software (Firmware) to a Android Auto or Apple Carplay and use the App "My T" to control the car with my Phone?

Hi! I am having the same problem with a new toyota i got from manufactures in China. Were you able to find a solution?

The Chinese made Toyota BZ4X is built by either GAC-Toyota or FAW-Toyota, rather than being built by Toyota. These are separate joint ventures between Toyota, GAC, and FAW,

There will be differences between the Chinese market vehicles and the European market vehicles.

Is there a website that GAC or FAW vehicles of Toyota post updates on these kind of issues?

Probably in China, but obviously will be in Chinese. 

These Chinese market models weren't intended to be exported to Europe .......

Hello, I also have a brand new China imported bz4x. I would like to flash the firmware to USA/European spec so I can have Android Auto.

Has anyone been able to figure out how to do this or where the software flash file can be downloaded? I tried downloading from Toyota website, but the US website will not accept VIN numbers for China-made vehicles.

Any help or update greatly appreciated.

Pretty sure the situation is similar to where people have imported Japanese Domestic Market vehicles and the multimedia units are in Japanese.

In most instances, owners replace the multimedia units with something suitable for their location, whether it is Europe, US, etc.

Where are these Chinese vehicles sourced?  Are they cheaper and is it worth the hassle?

The IP addresses of previous posters in this topic indicate Albania and West Indies .....

These cars are built one of two joint ventures between Toyota and Chinese manufacturers (FAW or GAC).

Not clear whether these are new or used vehicles - suspect used similar to Japanese grey imports into the UK. So unlikely to be under any factory warranty, and the local Toyota importers may not be interested in servicing, etc as they originate from a market area outside of their own.

I don't know, but the shock horror on peoples faces when they can't find parts for a car never imported here is priceless. Handbooks is another one, need a handbook for a car only ever made in China, do they do a manual in English? Errrr, no 🙄
