Auris 2011 Hatchback Hybrid not constant Power source

Hello,

I need a power source in my car's trunk.
The device that I want to run only needs
power if the car is in use.

Voltage: 12V
Max consumption: 9W
Car: Auris 2011 Hatchback Hybrid

Does anybody has an idea where I can found
a wire for the above around the Battery
in the car?

Many Thanks!

Hi,

you can perhaps run a long cable from the 12v socket located near the handbrake lever. Other option is to connect directly from the 12v Battery in the boot, although you need to know how and make sure there is no energy consumption while car is off otherwise will drain your Battery quickly.

Hello,

Yes, the final resolution could be the 12V socket.
I am just asking if there is another solution.

I found a plug under the trunk side cover that
is unused. Does anybody have any idea what that is?

It is Toyota way of making wiring for cars in Europe. They made the wiring  so similar for right and left hands car. It was most likely for the dom trunk light for the mainland Europe. Some of them are also meant for Tow hitch wiring.
