Headlights/Being Flashed

Morning all,

Had my Yaris Cross for about 4 weeks now and did my first night time driving of about 20 minutes the other day and cars on the opposite side of the road flashed me 3 times.

Lights are set to automatic and full beam was off so it wasn’t that. Manual levelling of the LED headlights is set to 0.

Anybody else had this or is it just because they’re LED and people think they’re on full beam when they’re not?

Think the beem angle need to be set lower, whether that is +/-1 to 1.5. Next time adjust it lower by 1 or 1.5 and see how it go.

I dont have a cross, just a Yaris and have to set it to +1 to lower for city driving.

Thanks both. 😁 I’ll park up by a wall this evening and see how they look and adjust as appropriate.

Honestly I had few experiences with Yaris cross  at night driving in opposite direction and they did  blind me badly. The lights itself are really bright and fitted higher than standard Yaris and I believe those cars were loaded with passengers and that’s why I got that. Perhaps if you travel alone you can keep the lights positioned at 0 but if you carry passengers and luggage then you will need to adjust accordingly, 1, ,2 ,3 on the rotary switch.

Hi Tony. Thanks for your reply. It was only me in the vehicle and no luggage so I assumed I was correct at position 0. I’m going to have a look tonight anyway and see what difference the adjustment makes. Like you say, could just be because they’re fitted higher up.

You are welcome. That’s my thoughts too. Most of the SUV’s does that including rav4 ‘s. 👍

SEE!!!!! IT'S NOT JUST ME!!!!

I had to dial my Mk4 down 3 clicks (1.5) to stop people flashing me!

The LEDs on these things are eye-searing! That's why I'm bamboozled when we get posts with people saying they aren't bright enough!
