Hi all B)

Ive got me new head unit on order now. JVC KD-LHX501 MP3 CD Player

But... Will this be enough to make the best use of me 300watt Pioneer 6x9's that ive got in the parcel shelf.

The new headunit is 50w x 4 channel

If its not gonna give me the best sound from me Speakers, then should i look at getting an amp to power them... If so, can i have some suggestions for what would suit.

May sound a simple question, but ive no idea lol :(

Thanx ppl

that 300W is probably the peek value

the RMS should be more than what the head unit is giving out

whats the model no for the 6x9

I personally woulnt bother amping 6x9s cos i dislike them immensely..... BUT u would definitely get better sound and depth from them by giving them more power.

So in response to your question -- YES, you would benefit from buying an amp to power the 6x9s from your new Head unit.

If i were u, id save my cash for now by running them off the head unit and look at upgrading to a 4 channel amp/sub combo later on so u can power a sub + front Speakers off the channel amp.

I've just got one amp now, it runs the 500W rms sub in my removeable boot box. The rest are all just off the Pioneer's 50W rms output

It works real well in a small car like the Yaris
