12V battery specification Estima 2009 2.4 (non-hybrid)

Recommended Posts

It has been warm for last few days but seems that the 12V Battery strugling to start the car. Using jump start first thing in the morning and stays ok rest of the day. The Battery voltage in the morning is 12.5V. The alternator is working fine and giving output of 13.8V.

The current battrey seems to be low in Ah. The specification is 550CCA 48Ah. Acdelco brand. I am suspecting while the car is switched off operating the electric sliding doors and interior lights consuming the power. Only other suspect is starter motor.

Most of the car parts store the Battery listing is 60-65Ah.

I tried to look for the topic in the forum but did not find any.

Does anyone know what would be the correct specification for the battery?

2.4 or 3.0 non-hybrid iirc the uk equivalent is 005 (L)

Bosch S4 E40 or Varta EFB around the £100-£150 mark

We discussed recently, I remember posting what I had just fitted.  Position of + & - is important and then the physical size. I went for the highest A/H I could fit.

It's a LH negative, oem is 55D23L = 005L

Sadly not on imports, many sites don't recognize the model especially with the JDM models, Tanya is all over the place with makes and models

to find a UK equivalent batteries you need to search it by size, terminal type, L or R negative and Battery type

Got mine from Tanya, then again I did work my way through the spec sheet.

Thanks Derek. You are right. But the importer messed up my V5C registration. Model and engine numbers were wrong in the V5C. If enter the number plate it doesn't detect. Even the DVLA website not showing right information for the car. I got a letter from Toyota and sent the V5C for correction. Been 6 weeks still no news.

Thanks John. I shortlisted the same Battery. The car still within warranty and i feel they fitted a wrong spec Battery. I asked them to replace the Battery with the Varta or Borsch one.

Thanks everyone for helping.

Just a thought I presume you know its original number plate before you imported it try that registration on a website from that country and take note of Battery code number then look for that code number in the UK.

Have you checked for corosion on Battery terminals its worth a look before ordering .

I personally remove them both & look inside clean then do the same to the earth at the other end.

There are 3 Battery specs, it depends on the model and options, the V6 has the larger Battery

Thanks Bob for the chart. This morning Battery wouldn't even take jump start. Went to local motor factor as urgency and picked up the 55D23L spec. 70Ah with 540CCA Red Power RP70. They gave 2 years warranty. As its only £70 i just got it for now. Fingers crossed for winter.

Again, thanks a lot for the tips and help.
