Touch and go 2 plus screen calibration?

Has anyone calibrated the sat nav touchscreen on their Toyota? My touchscreen is a right pain in the butt, to select the item you want you have to touch below the item/letter you want. All well and good but the bottom line becomes quite a problem at times. It’s as if the whole screen has slipped down but left everything in its normal place. TIA.

Apparently there is a hidden service menu that may allow you to recalibrate the screen:

All acknowledgements @flash22 since it is his post and I have done nothing more than find it! 😉

Thanks for that, I found that on google but couldn’t find it on here. Really wanted to know if anyone else had tried it as I was fighting shy of having a go in case it all went wrong. If nobody else has tried it, I guess I will just have to bite the bullet and have a crack at it. Thank you.

You can't go far wrong with it as long as you hit the marks, this is a know issue, the calibration drifts with time, it can be a problem with the digitizer

resetting the nav module may also help, that is in the other hidden menu

Access to the nav service menu.

Settings (button) - General - Volume

Press middle - top, middle - top, middle - middle, top  *as circled*

Ok, have tried what I can and no joy. When I test the touch screen, the presses are in the correct place near the bottom of the screen but are above my finger towards the top of the screen. My head unit is slightly different to the one in the above post and I simply cannot get to the menu with “Touch SW adjust”, got to the other menu and reset the sat nav but that’s made no difference (wasn’t expecting it to) seems the fault is with the touch screen (or it’s calibration) and as I can’t get to the SW adjust looks like I’m stuck with it.

The touch SW adjust is in hidden in the hidden menu

tap the left and right bottom corners, if the calibration is off may need a blunt ended tool to tap the screen with

Right ---- Left, Right ---- Left, Right ---- Left you may have to do it a few more times

If not, the digitizer has moved or started to fail, it's a pain to swap out but doable

looking at your pic you have a 86140-42100 what would be a Touch and Go not a Touch2

what is the version number ?

Tried the above and couldn’t get anywhere, this is the screenshot from “MyToyota” showing my version, I will also have a look in the car too.

Oh, ok it must be an early one, the digitizer is duff or a bad connection then

remove the radio from the car and unclip the display, disconnect the 2 ribbon cables, you can then work on the pcb and display

@flash22 from the unit,

86140-42240

software version 6.11.OWH

the device ID is as the pic from “MyToyota” but the last digits are 8214 and not 7720 as on there.

Thanks for that, will probably just give it up as a bad job. Just rubbishy Toyota head unit, has had very little use, usually just sits on the same radio station and is quite a low mileage vehicle. Not worth spending good money on map update if it’s not gonna play ball.

Have you had a service with Toyota in the last 12mounth/10k if you have then the car will have a service activated warranty and a new head unit would be covered
